Finally, like or not, I had to use two mobile phones. This is something that I actually avoid all the time. Let me to be honest, I’m most bothered about having bring two mobile phones when traveling in my pocket. But, in order to meet my mother wishes, finally I was using Telkomsel provider. After a discussion with my mother a few minutes and after some consideration what card shoul I use, I decided to use As phone card, the same card that had been used by my mother.

The time has come today. I had to refill the pulse for that As phone card. I used to refill my Mentari by using Internet Banking Internet Banking BCA. Internet Banking is indeed really helped me to refill the pulse for my phone card that I have been using until now, without having to go out from my house or my office in order to buy the pulse from the store or from ATM (Automatic Teller Machine). Since it was the first time I refilled the pulse for this As phone card, moreover in Voucher Type selection there is no As option in there, made me a little bit confused for a while.

Just for your information only, in the choice of Voucher Type in the Internet Banking, there are only Sympathy, XL VOUCHER, Mentari, IM3, Smartfren, STARTONE PREPAID, TELKOM FLEXI TRENDY, 3 PREPAID, and AXIS. I has also tried to search via Google in case anyone has ever shared the articles regarding the experiences refill the pulse for As phone card through KlikBCA, but none satisfy my needs.

Suddenly, my programming logic that I have been using at my work is walking by, plus a little reckless and try, LoL … I chose Simpati option, and the lowest amount of the pulse, IDR 25,000 (hehe, another economics method goes by, with the hope that even if it fails somehow, the money that would be gone was not too large). Until the end of the last step all the process I followed, roughly about 3 seconds later, suddenly there was a sound of the message tone came from my phone ringing. After I checked, the happy and shock feeling mix ended up being the one when reading the SMS from TELKOMSEL provided as follows: “Thank you to recharge with SN 41000140561331 worth 25000. Using Internet 7days only Rp5rb call *363*5000# from your cell phone”. Finally I managed to refill the pulse.

Well, I shared this experience, in addition to help me in the future if somehow I forget about my experience today, and hopefully also useful for for those of you who are using As phone card for the very first time, and want to refill the pulse via Internet Banking BCA. For other Internet Banking, I have not tried it, yet. The using of the term “data” proved increasingly aggravated by the frequent newsreader or presenter on the television, including also for those who involved in the events on the television programme; from the interviewee and speeches such as the officials, public figures, as well as the community proudly say out loud “data-data” without feeling awkward or feeling guilty at all.

What I would not believe it anymore is about the producers of the television programme. Do they not learn the Indonesian language before they took their position? In fact, a term whose name is often referred to repeatedly, would have the provisions to always be obeyed. Unfortunately, as if not to feel guilty, those people indirectly disseminating incorrect term pridely, and ultimately be justified in terms of the environmental community.

All right then. If they have not known about the correct term “data”, even though it still might not feel they did not know the appropriate term, let’s just forgive their mistakes, as well as God has forgiven our mistakes, okay? So I am advising you right now, please not to either imitate or mention the wrong term again. Starting today: please stop saying “data-data”, just say: “data” instead! Do not repeat the mistake more than once.

Please follow these steps:

1. Login to your Gmail account using browser.
2. Click on the Mail Settings menu, and then click on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
3. From the POP Download: section, make sure that the 1. Status item has its value as POP is enabled. It means, that all of your Gmail emails can be downloaded using your mail client so you can access them even you are not connected to the Internet.
4. Still from the POP Download: section, look at the 2. When messages are accessed with POP item. There you can see that the default value for this item is keep Gmail’s copy in the Inbox. That is the reason why your emails are not deleted in Gmail server after you receive them using Mail Client.
5. Now change the value of that option to become delete Gmail’s copy, and then click on Save Changes button to save the new setting.
6. Logout from your Gmail account using the browser, and then try to check your Gmail emails using your mail client as usual.

Let’s say you want to search for the postcode of Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara in Jakarta, then simply type in Google these words: postcode of jalan medan merdeka utara jakarta and then press Enter. Google will display one of several links related to your search as follow: http://kodepos.indonesiaweb.info/en/street/kodepos-jalan-medan-merdeka-utara-kelurahan-gambir-kecamatan-gambir-jakarta.

Probably, you have tried to search for the certain address with no result at all. This can be happened since there are some new streets or regions created nowadays. Alternative way that you can do is by searching based on its another information you have. For example, you want to search for the certain postcode based on its street, and you do not find any result related to it. Fortunately, since you know that street is located in the certain village or subdistrict, then you can search based on its village or subdistrict. For instance, the street you are looking for is located in Cideng village in Jakarta, then simply type these words from Google: postcode of cideng village and then press Enter. Google will display the most match result to this following address: http://kodepos.indonesiaweb.info/en/village/kodepos-kelurahan-cideng-kecamatan-gambir-jakarta-pusat.

How easy and fast it is!

Well, unlike many other Indonesia Postal Code websites that do not support for multi language, the website that we are talking about above has supported for the multi language. You can display its information either in English or in Indonesian language. You can also translate or switch the content of the page from English to Indonesian (and vice versa, of course) when you are displaying the certain page. You will find another useful information that mostly be displayed in that page. For example, when you search for the postcode of the certain street, then besides the postcode itself, you will also find that street is located in the certain village and or subdistrict and province that you have not thought before. At least, you will know that useful information in English, as one of the International Languages in this planet!

You must have been using the search feature (Search) in Microsoft Word. If not, it is time to try, hehe … To display the Search form, usually you press Alt + E + F, or Ctrl + F on your keyboard. After that, you type in keywords to search, then pressing the Find Next button on the Search dialog box to start searching. If found, we usually repeat the process by pressing the Find Next to find whether the keyword was still found at the other locations on the Word file. So forth, every time you want to find whether there is data that is found, then you should press the Find Next button in the Search dialog box.

Problems

The problem is, if the keywords that you are looking for was found either in more than one location or page, then you should replace that word that was found earlier with the other words that should not be the same each time you replace or change it (depending on the circumstances and context in which the word is resides), more often you will get annoyed as well. Why? Since you will be a little bothered with the job switching between the windows; from the Search dialog box to the Microsoft Word windows page and vice versa, in order to find and change the words that are found. In addition, the Search dialog box window area that often obstruct and interfere with your view to see the words found on page Microsoft Word.

Ouw, ya, just to focus the discussion on this post, in this case, we ignore the Replace All functions in the Search dialog box. Why? Because the Replace All feature will overwrite all the words that match with the search criteria, but unfortunately, we often do not want that will be happened. If you are not carefully using this Replace All, then you should not want it to be overwritten (because it is not that simple to replace all the words contained in sentences), will actually just hit with the new data. As a result, there is some context that would be chaotic.

Back to the topic! Usually after you press the Find Next button, you have to move your mouse cursor from the Search dialog box to the last page Microsoft Word file you open, then edit or replace the data you found before. After that, you return back again to the Search dialog box, then click on the Find Next button again to find if there were any data is found or not. So forth, until the last word is found. The question is: Is there a way more fun and easy to do this job?

Solution

No need to worry anymore, because there was a technique so you do not always have to move from the Search dialog box to the pages of Word and vice versa. In this case we will try to mapping search function next (FindNext) to the shortcut key F3, as well as adding a search function to the previous word (FindPrevious) then mapping it to the shortcut keys Shift + F3.

All rigth, then. Let’s get started. Please follow the steps below.

1. Open one of your Microsoft Word 2007 files.
2. Make sure at the top of menu, it has a Developer tab menu appears.
3. If the Developer tab menu is not there, then you can display it in the following way (skip this step if that Developer tab menu has appeared at the top of your Word application):
• Click on the Office Button at the left top of Word 2007, and then click on Word Options button to display the Word Options dialog box.
• Make sure on the left side, the Popular item has been selected.
• Next, give a check mark on the Show Developer tab in the Ribbon that sits at the Top options for working with Word section.
• Click on OK button.
• Now in the window of Microsoft Word 2007 you should have a new menu tab appears next to the far right called Developer.
4. Now make sure you have selected the Developer tab menu.
5. Click on the Macros sub menu, and wait until Macros dialog box appears.
6. On the Macro name: section, type the macro name, for example: MyMacro (the Macro name cannot contains space), then click on Create button.
7. Next, there is a window named Microsoft Visual Basic appears, and in the right pane you will see the code like Sub MyMacro etc …, remove all that code, then copy-paste the following code into the code editor window is empty:

   End Sub
   
   Sub FindPrevious()
       DoFind False
   End Sub
   
   Sub DoFind(findDirection As Boolean)
       Selection.Find.Forward = findDirection
       Selection.Find.Execute

8. Click on the disk icon in order to save the code, then close the Microsoft Visual Basic window.
9. Now make sure you have already displayed Microsoft Word 2007 window that the first time you had opened.
10. Click on the Office Button icon that sits on top left of Microsoft Word 2007 window, then click on Word Options button.
11. On the Word Options window, click on Customize menu, and then click on Customize … button that located at the right side of the Keyboard shortcuts: text.
12. Next, there will be a Customize Keyboard dialog box appears, and in the Categories: section, choose Macros, and make sure in the right of that list (Macros) you have seen two items: FindNext and FindPrevious.
13. Click on the FindNext item, and then click on the textbox Press new shortcut key: below, and press F3 button on your keyboard, then you will see the value of that textbox is F3.
14. Click on the Assign button in order to map the FindNext function with the F3 shortcut button.
15. Next, again click on the FindPrevious item, and then click on the textbox Press new shortcut key: below, and press Shift+F3 button on your keyboard, then you will see the value of that textbox is Shift+F3.
16. Click on the Assign button in order to map the FindPrevious function with the Shift+F3 shortcut button.
17. Press the Close button to close Customize Keyboard dialog box, and then click again on the OK button in order to close the Word Options dialog box window.
18. Now you should go back to the Microsoft Word 2007 window, then try to press Ctrl+F on your keyboard in order to display the Search dialog box, type a keyword as you wish and then click on the Find Next button, and press the Esc button on your keyboard in order to close the Search dialog.
19. Now press F3 button on your keyboard, and Microsoft Word 2007 will automatically find to the next occurancy in your file Word without having to display the Search dialog box.
20. The same thing you can do with the FindPrevious by clicking on the Shift+F3 button on your keyboard.

Congratulations! Now your work will be easier than before. Life became more excited!

In Conclusion

Now you can already do a search of data in Microsoft Word 2007 files easily and quickly. Once you do a search, close the Search dialog box, then press the F3 key on the keyboard, then the Microsoft Word application will search the next without having to always display the Search dialog box (the same way as we used to do a search in the Notepad application using F3 key). On the other side, if you press Shift + F3 key on your keyboard, the Microsoft Word application will look into the previous location had been found. You’ll also get a message that you can customize the message by yourself that inform you about the last word found by Microsoft Word, if the search had found no result again.

Since I use is Microsoft Office 2007, then the following solution I implemented only in Microsoft Word 2007. I have never tried this in other versions of Microsoft Word. Should you try this, then let us know about the result by leaving your comment below this post.

Everything goes smoothly, starting from the process of importing all emails in the old email client to the new email client: Mozilla Thunderbird. Similarly, for checking or receiving emails; everything goes smoothly. Until once upon a time, I found something that quite annoying my activities: cannot send email out using that mail client! I totally can not send mail using the SMTP mail server setting that belongs to any email accounts I already had, except for by using Gmail account. Hey, what’s wrong with this situation?

I don’t know what the cause, but clearly, this has happened since I moved to the media of and Internet connection using EVDO modem Smart. After asking Google, finally I found the solutions to overcome this, is by changing original SMTP, from using the SMTP setting of each mail server that belongs to the email account that I use, to become now just use one SMTP settings, namely:

smtp.smart.co.id

The SMTP Port is still the standard used: 25 (for general SMTP), whereas for the send authentication, this setting does not need it at all (No authentication). In addition, I also don’t need to set explicitly the Username (not specified), nor the Connection Security (None).

I am not sure whether this solution also passed on the Smart Telecom belongs to the countries other than Indonesia. So, please try it by yourself, if you are currently using the Smart Telecom Internet connection and are facing the same problem as I described above.
